Obituary for David Jones

David Jones, 69, of Micco, FL, formerly of Enfield, beloved husband of Jacquelyn (Hethcoat) Jones, entered into eternal rest on Sunday, September 4, 2022. Born in Liverpool, England on February 20, 1953, he was the son of the late James and Margaret (Burgess) Jones. David was employed as an Airfoil Polisher with Jarvis Airfoil until his retirement. After moving to Florida, he worked as a custodian at Westside Elementary School in Palm Bay, where he made many new friends. When he finally retired for good, Dave, as he preferred to be called, took up golf, which he had played when he was younger. He became a member of the Barefoot Bay Men's League, where he proudly scored his first hole-in-one. He was also a member of the Loyal Order of the Moose. Dave was an avid Red Sox fan, having traveled to Fenway Park many times, as well as Tropicana Field in St. Petersburg, FL when the Red Sox came to visit. He and his wife Jackie enjoyed attending NASCAR races in New Hampshire, Florida, and Las Vegas. They also liked walking on the beach together and dining at their favorite riverfront restaurants.

In addition to his wife Jackie, he leaves behind his son and daughter-in-law, Christopher and Nikki Jones, and his three grandchildren, Madison, Sophia, and Samuel of Manchester; his daughter and son-in-law, Tracy and Patrick Keefe and grandson Harrison of Chicopee; and his daughter-in-law Shayna Jones and grandson Brandon of Enfield. He is also survived by his sister Susan Jones and her husband Michael Steding of Windsor Locks and his former spouse and mother of his children, Joyce Kinel. Besides his parents, David was predeceased by his eldest son, Michael Jones.

A service honoring David’s life will be celebrated at 9 am on Saturday, September 24, 2022 at Leete-Stevens Enfield Chapels, 61 South Rd, Enfield. Burial will follow in Grove Hill Cemetery, Rockville. Friends are sincerely invited to attend. For online condolences, please visit www.leetestevens.com.
