Obituary for Diana Lynn Ferreira Landry

Diana Lynn Ferreira Landry, 50, of Enfield, the beloved wife of Donald J. Landry, Jr., passed away on Friday, September 16, 2022, at Hartford Hospital after a long 7-year illness.
Born in Springfield, MA on May 11, 1972, she was the daughter of the late David and Antonia (Orefice) Ferreira and grew up in Enfield before moving to Milford, MA in 1984. She graduated from Milford High School Class of 1990 and received her bachelor’s degree from Westfield State University and her master’s degree from Lesley University in Education. In 1996, Diana began her 26-year career as an Elementary School teacher at Blueberry Hill Elementary School in Longmeadow, MA. Diana married Donald in 1998 where she returned to settle in Enfield.

Diana had a spirit and a smile that would light up a room. She always had an ability to
make everyone feel special and was willing to go the extra mile to help others. Her laughter was infectious, and she made lifelong connections wherever she went. She was a communicant of Holy Family Church in Enfield and was involved over the years with many volunteer organizations. She was most proud to be the Cookie Mom for her daughter’s Girl Scouts Troop and the Room Mom at her son's Kindergarten class, as well as spending time on the ball field and courtside for her children’s sports activities, and her time at the Enfield Rotary Garden. Diana loved to frequent the beach with family and friends. She enjoyed her annual trips to the casino with her college girls, game nights with neighbors, and random get-togethers for breakfast or lunch with friends from High School, Enfield or Blueberry Hill School. Above all, she especially loved the time she spent with her family, including trips as a child to Hampton Beach, gatherings in Enfield and Ludlow and vacations with her husband and children. Diana most cherished the time she shared and the memories she created with her family.

Besides her beloved husband Donald, she leaves 2 adoring children, Caroline and Jack Landry of Enfield; her loving brother, David Ferreira, Jr. and his wife Tracy of Milford, MA; Niece Carly and Nephew Jake of Milford, MA: brother-in-law Brian Landry and sister-in-law Nicole of Milford, MA; Nephew Eric and Nieces Alexa and Kaitlin of Milford, MA; her Godmother Theresa Barney and her husband Edward of Higganum, CT. Diana was blessed to have a large extended family of Aunts and Uncles; Salvatore and Cindy Orefice of Enfield, CT, Vladimiro and Norma Orefice of Broadbrook, CT, Claudio and Helene Orefice of Somers, CT, Betty and Gus Gillberg of Holden, MA, Nancy and David Kowalczyk of Wilbraham, MA and Michael Ferreira of Ludlow, MA; and many close cousins. Diana had many special friends who were like sisters to her, dating back to High School, College, and her working years at Blueberry Hill Elementary School.

In addition to her parents, Diana was pre-deceased by her grandparents, Giuseppe and Carolina Orefice of Enfield, CT, Joseph and Mary Ferreira of Ludlow, MA and by her father & mother-in-law Donald and Penny Landry of Milford, MA.
