Obituary for Donald Myron "Donnie" Francoeur
Donald “Donnie” Francoeur of Somers, CT died at his home Tuesday May 5,2020.
He was born in Hartford, CT on April 3, 1972 the son of Michael and Serena Francoeur. Donnie attended
schools in Enfield, CT and graduated from Fermi High School in 1991. He earned his hair degree from
Creative School of Hair design in Enfield, CT. He was the owner and proprietor of the new hair salon
Posh Hair Studio in Somers, CT.
Donnie had an infectious laugh and lit up every room he walked in. With his vibrant personality, he had
a spirited ability to bring laughter to everyone he encountered. His illuminating smile and his keen sense
of humor will live on forever through his family. He was passionate about his work and loved his clients
and the time he was able to spend with them. He enjoyed traveling with his friends and family and made
the most out of every experience. Most of all Donnie was devoted to his family, especially his parents,
taking care of everyone and coordinating gatherings.
Donnie is survived by his parents Michael and Serena Francoeur of Enfield, his sister Jenna Schoonmaker
and her husband Wayne of Alford, MA and his two nephews Daniel and Luke. Karin and Charlie Stepka, His brother Jason Moore and his wife Irish of Bristol, and his sister Merissa Guerin and her husband Eric of Plainfield. His Grandparents Annette and Quent Winslow and grandmother Janet Bucchiere; his aunts, Rosa Bucchiere and Yvonne Bucchiere, Nicole and Adam Weng and their daughter Sophie and nephew Devante, Paula Fonck and her daughter Dallas, and uncle Shaun Bucchiere; cousins Carina and Donald Reno and their son Dylan, Crystal and Kevin Buckley and their daughters Audriana and Magnolia, Aunt Rosemary and her husband Steve Garland, Rick Parrotte and Chrissy of Bristol, and Kristen Marino of West Hartford. He is predeceased by his maternal grandfather Roland Bucchiere and paternal grandparents Elmer and Margaret Francoeur. Services will be private. A Celebration of Life ceremony will be held on Saturday, August 1, from 2-6 PM at The Moose Lodge in Enfield, CT. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the diabetes association in his memory.
