Obituary for Edward John Krawiec

Edward John Krawiec, 89, of Enfield, entered into eternal peace on Friday, March 4, 2022. Born on June 16, 1932 in the Thompsonville section of Enfield, CT, the son of the late Peter and Julia (Motyka) Krawiec, Edward was a lifelong resident of the community and of St. Adalbert Church of St. Raymond of Penafort Parish. He was the husband of the late Mary T. (Bielecki) Krawiec, who predeceased him on December 17, 2002. Ed was a salesman and driver with Dreikorn’s Bakery for many years, and later with Strohman’s bakery for seven years. He had previously been employed at Bigelow-Sanford Carpet Co. and later with Stop and Shop for many years. Ed later enjoyed his “Retirement Job” with Southern Auto Auction. He was a Navy Veteran who served during the Korean War. In his free time, he enjoyed golf and bowling, and was especially proud of his garden.
Ed is survived by his two daughters, Ann-Marie Whitney and her husband Wallace of Norfolk, MA, and Julia-Lyn Mahr and her husband Joseph of Southwick, MA; his grandchildren, Colin and William Whitney, Megan Joyce and her husband Ryan, and Nicole Gallagher; he also leaves great-grandchildren, Logan and Gannon; and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his brother John Krawiec and his sister Jennie Ferguson.
Relatives and friends are invited to join the family for calling hours on Sunday, March 13, 2022 from 5 – 7 pm at Leete-Stevens Enfield Chapels, 61 South Road, Enfield, CT 06082. A procession will gather at the funeral home at 9:00 am on Monday, March 14, 2022, for a Mass of Christian Burial at St. Patrick Church, 64 Pearl Street, Enfield, CT 06082 at 10:00 am. Burial with military honors will follow at St. Adalbert Cemetery. His family suggests that expressions of sympathy may be in the form of memorial donations to St. Jude’s Hospital, 262 Danny Thomas Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
