Elaine Beth Hancock, 70, passed away peacefully at Saint Francis Hospital on September 19, 2022 after a short illness. She was born on November 20, 1951 and lived in Windsor Locks CT until her marriage to Thomas Mann Hancock on “The 20th of May” 1978. They moved to Enfield, CT shortly thereafter. She was the daughter of George Newton Hammond and Ellen Jean Hastings Hammond. She leaves her loving husband of 44 years, Thomas Hancock, a brother and sister-in-law, Kenneth and Barbara Hammond of Glen Allen, VA, two nieces, Jennifer Hammond of Glen Allen, VA and Andrea Podaski of Queens, NY. Elain enjoyed several adventurous outdoor activities, gardening, raising cats, and being a gourmet cook. She was a Grand Officer in Rainbow. She was a member of the Congregational Church of Somersville, where she served as Deacon. In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Elain Hancock can be made to the Alzheimer Association. A memorial service will be held at Congregational Church of Somersville on Wednesday, October 5, 2022 at 7 PM. Scattering of the ashes will be private.
