Ethel J. Bourque, 103, of Somersville, passed away on Monday, September 12, 2022 at Apple Rehab of Colchester. Born in Somersville, CT on October 10, 1918, she was the daughter of the late Frederick and Matilda (Gaudet) Sharon and was a lifelong resident of Somersville before moving to live with her daughter in Amston in 2000. Ethel married Frank Bourque and they enjoyed 49 years of marriage until his passing in 1990. Ethel was the quintessential housewife and enjoyed tending to her home, raising her children,sewing and baking. Besides her husband, she was predeceased by her son, Timothy Bourque; and 6 siblings, LeRoy, George and Earl Sharon, Florence Piette, Lillian Nash, and Janet Morin. She leaves 2 children, James Bourque of Galax, VA, and Susan Sudol and her husband William of Amston; 6 grandchildren, David Sudol, Jennifer Tuthill, Matthew Bourque, Morgan Bourque, Paul Francis Bourque, and Noelle Starling.
Her family will receive friends on Tuesday, September 20, from 10:00-11:30 AM at Somers Funeral Home, 354 Main St. Somers. A Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 12:00 PM at All Saints Church, Somersville. Burial will follow in St. Bernard's Cemetery, Enfield.
