Obituary for Evelyn Catherine Quigley (Barsanti)



Evelyn C. (Barsanti) Quigley, known to her family as "Tee" passed away peacefully at the age of 100 on Saturday, February 20th, 2021 at the Suffield House. She was the beloved wife of the late Gerald Quigley. Born in Providence, RI on November 30th, 1920, she was the daughter of the late Armando and Esther (Baratto) Barsanti. Evelyn grew up in Providence where she worked in the family owned bakery. She graduated from Mount Pleasant High School and then went on to receive her degree at Johnson and Wales College. In 1956, Evelyn moved from Providence to Windsor Locks where she began working at Connecticut General. Several years later she went to work as a secretary at Kaman Aerospace retiring in 1970 after 17 yrs of service. Evelyn was a longtime faithful communicant of St. Mary and St. Robert Church since 1956. Some of the many things Evelyn enjoyed in life was spending time at the beach, vacationing with friends and family gatherings. Besides her husband Gerald, she was predeceased by her brother Regal Barsanti and his wife Louise, and her sister Norma Moffa. She is survived by her five devoted nieces and nephews, Cheryl Benoit and her husband Patrick, Richard Barsanti and his wife Susan, Patricia Simon and her husband Gregory, James Barsanti and his wife Donna and Anne Dzialo and her husband Edward. She also leaves many great nieces and nephews and great-great nieces and nephews. The family wishes to thank all the staff at Eagle Point and The Suffield House for the compassionate care they provided Evelyn over the past 11 yrs.
