Obituary for Gloria T. Waterman (Torrey)
Gloria Waterman of Enfield, CT and Florida passed away Friday August 26, 2022 at Baystate Medical Center in Springfield, MA. Gloria was the widow of Robert Waterman Sr. (d.2019), and the mother of the late Robert Waterman Jr. (d.2021). She is survived by her daughter Terry (Waterman) McLaughlin and husband Gerry of Glen Ellyn, IL and her granddaughter Emily Rose McLaughlin of Baton Rouge, LA.
Gloria was the daughter of the late Charles and Thelma (Walters) Torrey. She was raised in Newton Jct., NH. She and her late husband Bob Sr. made their home in Enfield CT, where they lived for over 50 years while treasuring their "snowbird" status for nearly half of those years. Gloria was employed by Casual Corner for 25 years before retiring. She enjoyed motorcycle rides with Bob Sr. and camping with family. She loved to cook and bake, and built a strong following for her cheese balls, fudge and brownies. She loved her cats dearly and was "home" to all neighborhood strays.
Gloria is also survived by her daughter-in-law Diane (Miller) Waterman of Enfield, CT
two sisters: Nancy Cummings and husband Ken of East Kingston, NH, Carol Cummings and husband Steven of NH, two brothers: Charles Torrey Jr. of Newbury, VT and Mark Torrey of East Machias, ME, in addition several special nieces, nephews and lots of wonderful in-laws.
Visitation will be held Saturday, September 17, 2022 at Leete-Stevens Enfield Chapel, 61 South Rd. Enfield CT from 1:00 pm to 2:00 pm; followed by the funeral service at 2:00 pm. Burial is private.
