Herbert J. Manley, Jr, 86, of Vernon, passed away on Tuesday, May 2, 2023 at St. Francis Hospital after a brief illness. He was born in Hartford on December 18, 1936. Herbert proudly served in the United States Navy during the Korean Conflict. In his leisure time he loved to golf, enjoyed watching Red Sox Baseball and building ships in bottles. His immense talent of building ships in bottles was featured in a published book. Herbert also loved his trips to the local Casino’s. Herbert is survived by his children; his son Scott Manley (Pamela) of KY, Gregory Manley of NC, Kelly Morelli of Enfield, and Tracy Bowidas (Rick) of Windsor Locks; 11 grandchildren, 5 great grandchildren; his brother John Manley and his very good friend, Bob and his daughter Beth with whom he made his visits with to the Casino. He was predeceased by his wife Mabel (Burnell) Manley, his daughters; Dianne Manley and Lisa Manley-Cannon and his sisters, Joanne and Lynn.
