Herbert S. Sobanski, Jr., 58, of Enfield, beloved husband of Sherri (Webb) Sobanski, passed away on Saturday, November 2, 2019 at his home. Born in New Britain, CT on January 6, 1961, he was the son of the late Herbert S. and Simone Alice (LaFlamme) Sobanski and grew up in New Britain. Herb was presently working for Aetna as an Infrastructure Engineer at the time of his passing. A true outdoorsman, Herb loved anything related to the natural world. He always referred to the woods and swamp as his church. He was a tireless advocate for the fishing, hunting, and trapping community through legislation and education. Herb was the President of the Connecticut Fur Harvesters Association, and the chief instructor for the State DEEP as well as a trapping mentor to countless individuals. Besides his beloved wife Sherri, he leaves his 5 loving children, Joseph Sobanski of Berlin, Germany, Nicholas Sobanski of Manchester, Brian and Lillian Sobanski of Enfield, and William Eastham of Ellington; 4 siblings, David Sobanski of Waterford, Lynne Cavanna of South Glastonbury, Danette Pape of Cody, WY, and Cathy Caron of New Britain; and his in-laws, William and Barbara Webb of Enfield. His family will receive friends on Wednesday, November 6, 2019 from 4-7 PM at Leete-Stevens Enfield Chapels, 61 South Rd. Enfield. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Thursday, November 7, at 10 AM, DIRECTLY at Holy Family Church, Enfield. Everyone is asked to meet at the church.
