Obituary for Irene M Argenta (Jasienowski)



Irene (Jasienowski) Argenta, 86, of Windsor Locks, beloved wife of the late Charles Argenta, entered into Eternal Rest on Wednesday, January27, 2021 at Bickford Healthcare.  Daughter of the late Andrew and Lillian Jasienowski, she was born on October 30,1934 in Holyoke,MA where she spent her youth.  She later moved to NY, and eventually settled in CT.  Irene proudly served her country in the United States Marine Corps.  She later went on to serve in the CT Air National Guard where she worked as a flight technician, retiring with 31 years of veteran service.  In her youth she was an accomplished skier.  She loved singing and playing cards. Later in life she enjoyed volunteering and participating in activities at the Windsor Locks Senior Center, and spending time at her vacation home in Florida with family and friends. She also enjoyed being the caller for Bingo at St Mary Church.  Her family would like to thank the staff at Bickford Healthcare for their kind and compassionate care of Irene during her stay.
Irene is survived by her brother Andrew Jasienowski and his wife June of NY; three grandchildren, three great grandchildren, nieces and nephews,cousins, and dear friends, Doug and Shannon Dion, and Kristi Mund.  In addition to her husband Charles, she was predeceased by her sons, Michael and Richard Keene.
Irene's family will receive relatives and friends from 5 to 7 pm on Tuesday, February 2, 2021 at the Windsor Locks Funeral Home, 441 Spring St., Windsor Locks. Family and friends will gather at the funeral home at 10:00 am on Wednesday,  February 3, 2021 for an 11:00 am Mass of Christian Burial at St. Mary Church, 42 Spring St, Windsor Locks.
