Jean S. Folger, 87, of Enfield, widow of Jesse Folger, passed away Tuesday March 15, 2022 at Evergreen Healthcare. Born in Westfield, MA, she was the daughter of the late Alan Shattuck and Maryrose (Warner Shattuck) Quirk. Known for her beautiful auburn hair, she was raised in Granby, CT and graduated from Simsbury High School, after which she received her hairdressing license. She and Jesse were married in 1956 and raised their family of four children after moving to the Southwood Acres neighborhood in Enfield in 1958. She was a fierce protector of her Children, impressing her hardworking and honest value system to them and dozens of children from the neighborhood. She loved reading to her children and incessantly playing show and movie tunes on their victrola. Jean was a constant at the ballfield for all of her Children’s sporting events. She was not shy about dressing up as a witch for Halloween to scare the pants off of trick-or-treaters.
She hosted card parties for her neighbors and enjoyed playing Canasta with her mother and late Step-father, Louis Quirk. Jean also loved playing Bingo with her daughter, Jeanine. She enjoyed playing challenging tennis matches with her family and was a quintessential member of the O.G. Slot Corp with best friend and sister-in-law, Irene Folger at the casino.

She had a flair for decorating cakes for family celebrations as well as baking her delicious Raisin Cake, which left her family always asking for another slice.
