Jean Lee (Sanford) Marchese of Somers, CT, passed away on Sunday, November 3, 2019 in the comfort of her home, surrounded by the love of her children. She leaves behind seven children; Crystal Lee McDermott and her husband, Joseph, of Windsor, Robert Harry Marchese and his wife, Angelina, of Ludlow, Darcy Rae Lamore of Springfield, Wayne Kimble Marchese and his wife, Barbara, of Haverhill, Scott Sanford Marchese and his wife, Michelle, of Cape Coral, Wendy Jo Marchese of Springfield, and Lynn Anne Richi and her husband, Michael, of Somers; as well as 11 grandchildren, 6 great grandchildren, a sister, Linda Jo Gershowitz and her husband, Melvin, of Ludlow, and a brother, Douglas Sanford of Ludlow. She was predeceased by her husband of 53 years, Robert Hector (Bucky) Marchese, as well as by a brother, James (Butch) Sanford. Jean Lee was the oldest of four children, born on January 16, 1933, to Harry A. and Doris (Stevens) Sanford. She was a Rainbow Girl and graduated from Ludlow High School, Class of 1950. After attending secretarial school she obtained a job at Tifft Brothers, where she met the love of her life, embarking on a life long journey consisting of 7 children born within 8-years-time, many trips to Germany, Switzerland, and Bermuda, as well as vacations at their favorite spot, Cape Cod. Jean Lee developed a love for the simpler things in life, playing piano, gardening, weekly trips to Misquamicut Beach, golfing, playing cards, and sitting by a warm fire. Her greatest joy in life remained that of her children. She devoted her life to us, giving in the only way she knew how from her heart and with much love. A celebration of life will take place on Saturday, November 16, 2019 at 2:00 pm at Union Church of Christ, 51 Center St., Ludlow, MA 01056.
