John Robert Linville (Cahill), 75, born on August 5, 1945, passed away on April 7, 2021. He leave his wife of 29 years, Linda Cahill, of Enfield and his brother, Ron, of Ontario, Canada. He proudly served our country in the Navy during the Vietnam War. John was a truck driver and loved to travel to Canada every July for fishing trips with his brother. He once drove to Yellow Knife, NWT, Canada, to see his younger brother, Ken. Later in life he enjoyed teaching others how to use the computer in Suffield and was a member of the computer club in Agawam. His hobby was repairing computers for Senior. He even built his own gaming computer. John liked to bring jokes to the doctor's office to cheer up the staff. The family extends a special thanks to St. Francis Hospital, including Dr. Stone, Dr. Teige, Dr. Hoffman, Dr. Bei, Dr. Cohen, and Dr. Thoma, for taking care of his health for the past 20 years. Also a special thanks to Kathi, Manny, and Evelyn, who helped his wife during his trying time at the end. Relatives and friends are invited to join the family for a graveside service with military honors on Tuesday, April 13, 2021 at 10:00 am at St. Patrick King St. Cemetery, Route 5, Enfield. In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of John may be made to St. Francis Foundation or Trinity Health of New England at Home Hospice Care.
