Obituary for John Longo

John Longo, 74, of Enfield, beloved husband of Daisy Lee-Longo, entered Eternal Peace on Friday, May 20, 2022, at Hartford Hospital. John was born on May 3, 1948, in Lowell, MA, the loving son to the late Nicolo and Concetta (Silvestri) Longo. John attended New Mexico Highlands University, where he was a proud member of the Tau Kappa Epsilon Fraternity. He resided in Cannes, France for seven years before returning to the United States and making his home alongside his wife and family in Westborough, MA. John and Daisy later moved to Enfield where they raised their family. John enjoyed a career as a program manager with Digital Corp and IAN (Internet Appliance Network). He was a communicant of St. Patrick Church in Enfield and a member of the local American Legion. He enjoyed golfing, and had a love for the sport of football, playing for his school's team throughout his high school career. He was a gifted artist and particularly enjoyed painting and sketching. John loved music, especially classic, jazz, and rock n' roll, and was a fan of movies of all kinds. Overall, John was a humorous family man who adored the time spent with his wife, and two beloved children, of whom he was so proud of. In addition to his loving wife of 22 years, Daisy Lee-Longo, he is survived by his two children, Aaron Longo, Catherine Longo, and his four-legged companion, Murphy; and many nieces, nephews, and extended family members. John also leaves many lifelong close friends who became family. He was predeceased by his sister, Mary Lou Longo, and brother, Nicholas Longo. Relatives and friends are invited to join the family for calling hours on Saturday, June 4, 2022, from 9 - 11 am at Leete-Stevens Enfield Chapels, 61 South Rd., Enfield, CT 06082. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:30 am at St. Patrick Church, 64 Pearl Street, Enfield, CT 06082. Burial will follow at St. Patrick King Street Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in honor of John may be made to the Wounded Warrior Project, P.O. Box 758516, Topeka, Kansas 66675-8516.
