Obituary for John R. Wyse

John R. Wyse, 64, of Enfield, beloved husband of Tammie Wyse, peacefully passed away at home on December 15, 2020, surrounded by his family. Son of the late John N. and Dolores Wyse, he was born in Stafford Springs on June 3, 1956. He was employed as a machinist and quality control inspector for United Technologies for many years. Since retirement, John enjoyed cooking, fishing, fixing things around the house, and taking trips to Florida. He cherished time spent with his family, especially his granddaughters Adeline “Peanut” and Eleanor “Nugget” whom he adored. John will be remembered as a genuinely kind and selfless person, who was always willing to lend a helping hand, expecting nothing in return. His family would like to thank the staff at Hartford Healthcare Hospice for their compassionate care of John.
In addition to his loving wife Tammie, John is survived by his son, Jason Wyse and his wife Amanda of Milford; his dear granddaughters, Adeline and Eleanor; his sister, Christine Fretz and her husband Jim of NJ; his sister-in-law, Deana Wyse of Enfield; many beloved nieces, nephews, and cousins; and his beloved canine buddy, Dunkin. He was predeceased by his sister Jeri Wyse and his brother, Thomas Wyse.
A graveside service will be celebrated for John at 11 am on Saturday, December 19, 2020 at Somers West Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations in John’s memory may be made to the Shriners Hospital for Children in Springfield, 516 Carew Street, Springfield, MA, 01104.
