Obituary for John Joseph Zukowski
John J. Zukowski, 61, passed away peacefully in his home on Thursday, February 13, 2020. During his final days, John was surrounded within a circle of love and support from family and friends. Born December 3, 1958 in Hartford, CT, he was the son of the late Joseph T. Zukowski and Barbara (Scirica) McCahey.
John graduated Enfield High School, class of ’76. He then went on to serve in the U.S. Air Force. He enjoyed cooking and was Chef to many area restaurants. His passions included hunting and fishing and he enjoyed many trips around the country exploring his passions.
He is survived by his beloved daughter, Tara Lynn Zukowski; his brothers, Kevin Zukowski and his wife Michele, and David McCahey and his wife Michelle; his nieces and nephews, Jessica Blankenship, Matthew and Nicolas Zukowski and Amanda and Kyle McCahey; his uncle, Donald Zukowski, and his former wife, Kathy Gable. Also family to John were his lifelong friends, Mark Lamagna and his wife Nina, and Brian Poudrette and his wife Kelly.
A loving father, brother, uncle and friend, John will be missed by all who knew him.
Family and friends are invited to attend a graveside service to be held on Saturday, February 29, 2020, 12 pm, at St. Joseph’s Cemetery, Hill Street, Suffield.
