Obituary for Josephine "Joan" Teta Sirard (Buoniconti)

Josephine "Joan" Teta Sirard (nee Buoniconti), 78, of East Longmeadow, was reunited with her beloved parents the late Dominick and Amelia (Albano) Buoniconti, March 7, 2022. Joan passed peacefully surrounded by her family. Born and raised in Enfield, CT, Joan lived in Longmeadow for most of her life where she raised her family. She had a 40 year career in nursing, retiring from Baystate Medical Center in 2005. Joan was a compassionate caregiver who treated her patients like family, often staying connected with them post treatment.

She enjoyed traveling, reading, shopping, golfing and eating, but above all, Joan loved spending time with family and friends. She is survived by her son, Frank Teta and his wife Emilia of East Longmeadow, two daughters, Aimee Mancuso and her husband Peter of East Longmeadow, Alissa Teta and Anthony Russo of Longmeadow and six grandchildren, Frankie Teta, Rosella Teta, Gaetano Mancuso, Dominic Mancuso, Angelina Bachelor and Joey Bachelor as well as countless family and friends. All will lovingly remember her for her strength, independence and beauty.

Visitation Hours will be held from 4-7 p.m. Monday March 14, 2022 at Leete-Stevens Enfield Chapels, 61 South Rd., Enfield. Family and friends will gather Tuesday March 15, 2022 at 9 a.m. at Leete-Stevens for a procession to St. Patrick Church of St. Raymond of Penafort Parish, (64 Pearl St., Enfield) for a 10 a.m. Mass of Christian Burial. Committal will follow at St. Patrick's King St. Cemetery in Enfield.

Joan’s family will be eternally grateful to the staff at Ruth’s house for their dedication to Joan’s care and ask that donations in Joan's memory may be made to Jewish Geriatric Services Lifecare, 770 Converse Street, Longmeadow, MA 01106.
