Obituary for Joyce P. Hall
Joyce P. Hall, 86, of Enfield, passed away on Friday, August 13, 2021 at her home. Born in Old Mystic, CT on August 2, 1935, she was the daughter of the late Francis and Marian (Whitford) Patterson. Joyce worked for the Enfield Public School system for many years and was very active in Enfield politics, especially the Enfield School Board.
After teaching in Enfield, Mrs. Hall worked for the State of Connecticut Labor Department as a computer programmer. While working for the state, she became the first female president of the Connecticut State Employees Association (CSEA), a position that allowed her to work on the labor relations issues important to her and her fellow state employees.
She is survived by her children, Elizabeth Forbes, Jonathan Hall, and Penelope Sherry; as well as 5 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren.
Her family will receive friends on Saturday, September 18, from 1-2 PM at Leete-Stevens Enfield Chapels, 61 South Rd. Enfield, with a Memorial Service taking place at 2 PM. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to First Readers Association of Enfield, CT, PO Box 626, Enfield, CT 06082. Burial will be private.
