Joyce A. (Foster) Parker, 73, of Broad Brook, beloved wife of the late Frederick E. Parker, entered eternal peace on Wednesday, March 30, 2022 at Evergreen Healthcare. She was born in Hartford on April 17, 1948, the daughter of the late John and Marian (Leete) Foster. Joyce grew up in Broad Brook and later moved to Rockville and Somers, returning to her hometown for her final years. She was a devoted wife and mother who spent 18 years fostering children for the Department of Children and Families. She enjoyed raising farm animals, catching polliwogs, gardening, crocheting, camping, playing the piano, playing cards, and serving up delicious suppers. She loved a good joke, a clever prank, and her hearty laugh was contagious. She was known to generously offer her home to anyone in need, animals and people alike.
She will be dearly missed and is survived by her four children, Donna Berry and her children, Jamie, Jacob, Jesse, and Cobey; Timothy “TJ” Parker, his fiancé Elizabeth Lech, and his children, Dana, Shayne, Avery, and Logan; Sarah Parker, her fiancé Jay Chung, and their children Elleta and Sadie; and Karen Kotsch, her husband Jonathan, and their children Johanna and Freddy. Joyce also leaves behind her siblings and their spouses, John and Sandy Foster, Scott and Sue Foster, Gail and Jack Gahr, Tracey Fahey, and her partner Bob Navin.
