Obituary for Katherine M. Mayville (Burns)

Katherine M. Mayville, 93, of Enfield, passed away peacefully surrounded by family on Friday, September 30, 2022 at Evergreen Health Care Center. Born and raised in Middletown, CT on December 15,1928, she was the daughter of the late James and Leah (Spash) Burns.
Kay was a loving mother, grandmother and great grandmother and made a beautiful home for her children in Enfield. Her home always had the front door open for her family's friends and her happiness was the more the merrier.
She was a volunteer at Hartford Hospital for 5 years and a Hospice volunteer with the terminally ill for 15 years.
She always brought her new patients a warm hug and a yellow rose for love.
She was awarded the Hospice volunteer award for the state of CT and was celebrated by her peers in Farmington Ct.
She is survived by 4 children, Steven Mayville and his wife Christina of West Hartford, Debra Prior and her husband Gary of Somers, Michele Reisner of Longmeadow, MA, and Kimberly Mayville-Dodd of Enfield; 7 grandchildren, Alexandra Mayville, Stephanie Mayville and her husband Jason and their children Mirabella and Fabiola, Samuel Mayville and his wife Hannah Martin and their daughter Naomi, Tenley Stoltz and her husband Eric and their children, Madaket and Brant; Paul Prior and his wife Liely and their daughter Kataliena; Casey Reisner; and Broderick Dodd.
Kay will be laid to rest in the place she held lovingly in her heart, Nantucket Sound.
Family and friends are welcome to join her Memorial Prayer Service Thursday, October 6, beginning promptly at 4 PM at Leete-Stevens Enfield Chapels, 61 South Rd. Enfield.
