Obituary for Lillian Rookey (Snow)

Lillian (Snow) Rookey, 99, of Somers, beloved wife of the late Raymond W. Rookey, Sr., entered into eternal rest at her home on Monday, June 28, 2021. She was born in Hartford on October 15, 1921, daughter of the late James and Lillian (Bennett) Snow. She was a resident of Windsor Locks for many years, later moving to Somers in 1984. Lillian worked in data control for Hallmark cards and was an active member of their retirement club when her years of service ended. She and her late husband Raymond loved to travel. They were members of St John’s Episcopal Church in East Windsor.
Lillian is survived by her son, Raymond Rookey, Jr. of Somers; her nephew Kevin Pelkey and his wife Elizabeth, and her nephew David Pelkey and his wife Paula, all of Enfield; her sisters-in-law, Eugenia Goodale of MA, Shirley Boothe of TX, and Phyllis Rookey of Enfield, and many other nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews.
In addition to her husband, she was predeceased by her sisters, Edith Mather, Mabel Pelkey, and Mae Dakers; and her brothers, James, Frank, Curtis, and George Snow.
A funeral service will be celebrated for Lillian at 10 am on Friday, July 2, 2021 at Leete-Stevens Enfield Chapels, 61 South Rd, Enfield. Guests are welcome to arrive up to 30 minutes prior to the service to greet the family. Burial will follow in Springdale Cemetery, East Windsor.
