Obituary for Lorraine M. Januszewski

Lorraine M. Januszewski, 91, of Enfield, beloved wife of the late Thomas Januszewski, entered into eternal peace Thursday, March 16, 2023 at home. Born and raised in Abington, MA, she was the daughter of the late Jule and Gabrielle (Menard) Jacob. Lorraine and Thomas raised their family in Enfield where they resided since 1956. She was a communicant of Holy Family Church of St. Jeanne Jugan Parish. She was employed at Hamilton Standard for 20 years before retiring. During retirement, she enjoyed working part-time for Paradies Gift Shops and later at the Enfield Nutrition Services program where she made many lifelong friends, She loved to spend time travelling, going on cruises, playing cards, hosting dinners and enjoying a treat at Collins Creamery. The family’s annual Misquamicut Beach pilgrimage that lasted over 30 years was very special to her.

She is survived by five children, Lorry Potvin of Enfield, Paul Januszewski and his wife Judy of Enfield, Dennis Januszewski and his wife Wendy of Enfield, Bill Januszewski and his wife Beth of New Freedom, PA, John Januszewski and his wife Nicole of Bellingham, MA; 10 grandchildren, Paul and his wife Rebecca, Dan, and Krystal Januszewski, Michael Potvin and his wife Kaitlin, Steven Potvin, and Michelle Zaugg and her husband Barry, Stephanie Osip and her husband Adam and MaKayla Januszewski, Ethan and Liam Januszewski; 10 great-grandchildren, Lexi, Cole, and Kyle Januszewski, Kallianna, Cody, and Carter Zaugg, Jacob, Isabella and Oliver Potvin, and, Aidan Raboin. She also leaves several nieces and nephews. Besides her husband, she was predeceased by a son, Thomas Michael Januszewski, a granddaughter, Jennifer Januszewski, two brothers, James and John Jacob, and a sister Theresa O'Brien. She also leaves behind special brother-in-laws Paul Januszewski and his wife Barbara and Bill O’Brian.

Visitation hours will be held from 4-7 p.m. Thursday March 23, 2023 at Leete-Stevens Enfield Chapels, 61 South Rd., Enfield. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, March 24, 2023 at Holy Family Church (Please Meet at Church), 23 Simon Rd., Enfield. Committal is private.
