Marjorie Banyas, 98, of Suffield, formerly of Enfield, passed away peacefully Wednesday, August 31, 2022. She was the widow of Louis Bechtel and Frank Banyas. Marjorie was born in Bridgeport, CT on May 6, 1924, daughter of William and Margaret (Delaney) Curry. She enjoyed participating in many of the activities in the church. While in Bridgeport, she belonged to Park Street Congregational Church and then Unity Hill UCC. When she moved to Enfield, she became a member of the Enfield Congregational Church. When she returned to the workforce after being a stay at home mom, she worked at her brother Don's gift and gourmet store in Greenfield Hill. It was her favorite job. She also worked as a receptionist for Child and Family Services in Bridgeport until her retirement. She was a loving, caring mother, grandmother, and great grandmother and was a great friend to many. She is survived by her daughter Cynthia and her husband Thomas Roche, grandchildren Brian Roche and his wife Meredith, Michael Roche, and Steven Roche and his partner Brittany Hestad, and great grandchildren, Adam, Michael, Nora, David and Bryn. In addition to her husbands and parents, she was predeceased by her son, Roger Bechtel, and her brothers, William, Donald, and Stanley Curry. Visitation will be held from 11:00 a.m.- 12:00 p.m. followed by a funeral service at 12:00 p.m., on Tuesday, September 6, 2022 at Leete Stevens Enfield Chapels 61 South Rd., Enfield. Committal will be held at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, September 7, at Park Cemetery, in Bridgeport.
