Obituary for Marlene B. Yavorosky (Novak)

Marlene Barbara (Novak) Yavorosky, 87, passed away on Wednesday, April 13, 2022, with her loving daughters at her side. Marlene was born in Manhattan, NY on January 24, 1935 to the late Michael and Helen (Grutza) Novak. She was predeceased by Edward, her husband of 56 years, in 2013. Marlene, Ed, and their three daughters resided in Elizabeth NJ before moving to Enfield CT in 1972. She was baptized as one of Jehovah’s Witnesses in 1958 and was a member of the Enfield CT Congregation. Marlene loved gardening, reading, collecting brooches and pins of all kinds. She enjoyed spending her time with her family and was famous for her lasagna and rum cake. Marlene leaves behind her three daughters: Cynthia Fosberg and husband Douglas of West Springfield MA, Lisa Salter and husband Steve of Suffield CT, and Stephanie Dabsky and husband Nathan of Springfield MA, a brother Edward Novak of NYC, her aunt Theresa McCord, six grandsons: Nicholas and wife Kentisha; Joseph and wife Melisa; Justin and wife Felicia; Zachary and wife Jessie; Steven and partner Kareana; and Tyler and wife Mikayla, and five great grandchildren: Monei, Justin Jr., Brayden, Kayden, and Lucas and a nephew, Michael Novak. Along with her husband, Marlene was predeceased by her sister Elenor, her brother William, and granddaughter Gabrielle. The family would like to thank JGS Life Care, Spectrum Hospice and all who have been by the family with comfort, visits and prayers. There will be no calling hours.
