Melissa M. Tatro, 79, of Enfield, entered into Eternal Peace on Thursday, April 8, 2021 at St. Francis Hospital. Melissa was born in Bakersfield, VT, on September 23, 1941, the loving daughter to the late Earl and Hyla (Willard) Gates. She enjoyed a career as an assembler with Lego Systems for 15 years. Melissa was a member of Broad Brook Congregational Church and enjoyed knitting and crocheting. She was a cat lover, adopting many of her own. Melissa's greatest joy was spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren. Melissa is survived by her three children, Hobert Gates and his significant other, Pamela Gratton, of Bakersfield, VT, Hyla McNeely and her husband, Kevin of Enfield, and Sheri Brown and her husband, Scott, of Enfield; a brother, Lindsey Gates and his significant other, Sally, of Enosburg Falls, VT; her beloved grandchildren, Matthew Gates, Jessica Gratton, Corey Gratton and his wife, Shawnda, Gregory McNeely and his wife, Jessica, Andrea and Regina McNeely, Hannah and Brittany Townsend, and Lyndsie Brown; great grandchildren, Clara Gates, Addison and Levi Gratton, Dylan, Colton and Rylan McNeely and Abel and Lawson O'Hara; and a sister-in-law, Barbara Gates. She was predeceased by her brother, Sam Gates. A memorial service will be held at Broad Brook Congregational Church at a later date to be announced by the family. Burial will be held at the convenience of the family.
