Obituary for Phyllis Peacock (DallaValle)

Phyllis (DallaValle) Peacock, 83, of Windsor Locks, peacefully passed away on Monday, December 5, 2022 after a long and hard-fought battle with cancer. Phyllis was a fiercely independent woman who valued her friendships as much as her privacy. She worked various jobs throughout her life, but one of her favorites was as a medical stenographer (many years ago!) at Hartford Hospital. She had many creative talents, among them sewing, stenciling, crocheting and as an award-winning quilter. She was the owner of Phyllis Originals, the perfect outlet for her many talents. She was also very involved with the Windsor Locks Lions Ambulance Corps, having been granted “Auxiliary Membership” status in 1992. She was fond of jigsaw puzzles, British mystery shows, white chocolate and, above all else, a hot cup of tea with a splash of milk. Phyllis was predeceased by her parents Cesiro (Eno) and Rose (Gerardi) DallaValle, two sisters Joy and Gloria, her former husband Tom and a special cousin Nick. She leaves behind her son Tom, daughter Susan Montemerlo and her husband Steven, six grandchildren, Tori, Elizabeth, Abby, Natalie with her wife Emma, Nancy and Craig, along with two great grandchildren. In addition, she leaves behind her younger brothers Richard and Robert, several nieces and nephews including special niece Amy, her New Jersey family, a dear friend Denise Harper, Larry and Claire Montemerlo who always treated her like family, and a large circle of fellow crafters who provided much comfort to her during her journey. Phyllis’ family would like to thank her caregiver Tiffany for her dedication to Phyllis these past two months, along with the staff at the Smilow Cancer Center at Saint Francis Hospital for the professionalism and compassion they showed to her. In honoring Phyllis’ wishes, services will be private and at the convenience of the family. If so moved, a donation in Phyllis’ memory may be made to the Windsor Locks Lions Ambulance Fund, PO Box 105, Windsor Locks, CT, 06096.
