Obituary for Richard Beck
Richard Beck, 85, of Enfield, beloved husband of Althea (Trickett) Beck, entered into eternal peace at his home on Thursday, June, 3, 2021. Son of the late Simion and Rita (Charest) Beck he was born in Springfield, MA on August 1, 1935. Richard proudly served his country in the United States Army during the Korean War. He worked in security at Travelers Insurance for many years. Outside of work he enjoyed spending time outdoors fishing and taking camping trips with his family.
In addition to his beloved wife Althea, Richard is survived by his children, Michael Beck and his wife Melissa of TX, Jeffrey Beck and his significant other Christine Backhaus of Windsor Locks, and Deborah Whalen and her husband Joseph of Enfield; his grandchildren, Lindsey, Tracy, Christina, Breana, Jake, Chad, Ryan, and Matthew; five great grandchildren, and his brother Roger Beck of CA. He was predeceased by his brother, Robert Beck.
Richard’s family will receive relatives and friends from 10 – 11 am on Wednesday, June 9, 2021 at Somers Funeral Home, 354 Main St., Somers. A funeral service will follow the visitation at 11 am.
