Robert E. McCulloch II, 75, of Somers, beloved husband of Judith (Klaczak) McCulloch, entered into the presence of Jesus on Tuesday, January 5, 2021 surrounded by his family at St. Francis Hospital. He was born in Denver, CO on November 20, 1945, son of the late Robert McCulloch and Grace (Romano) McCulloch. Robert moved to Somers in his early childhood where he resided and was active in its community throughout his life. He proudly served his country in the United States Navy during the Vietnam War. Robert was a member of the Somers Fire Dept for many years, serving as Fire Chief and later Commissioner. He was also active in the American Legion Post 101 and coached Little League and Ponytail League teams. Robert loved hunting, fishing, gardening and woodworking and instilled these skills in his children. The time he cherished most was spent with his family.
In addition to his loving wife, Judy, Robert is survived by his children, Angela Klimaytis of OH, Grant McCulloch and his wife Christine, and Jordan McCulloch, both of Somers; his grandson, Robby Klimaytis; his sisters, Michele Muska and her husband, Ron, of Somers, Ceil McCulloch and her husband, Joe DeMaio, of West Hartford, Deb Turnbull of WI, and Nancy Weida and her husband, Rick, of RI; his brother, Donald Stotts of OH, mother-in-law, Jean Klazcak, of Somers, as well as sisters-in-law, Linda (Joe) Coleman and Debbie (Neil) Atkinson both of Somers, and many cherished nieces and nephews.
His family will receive relatives and friends from 3 to 6 pm on Friday, January 8, 2021 at Leete-Stevens Enfield Chapels, 61 South Rd, Enfield. A graveside service with military honors will be celebrated for Robert at 10:30 am on Saturday, January 9, 2021 at Somers Center Cemetery. Masks and social distancing are required for all attendees.
