Robert M. Mielnik, 72, passed into the Lord’s hands after a battle with cancer on Thursday, July 23, 2020. Born in Springfield, MA on August 21, 1947, he was the son of the late Stanley and Elizabeth (Oles) Mielnik and lived in Suffield most of his life before moving to Enfield 1 year ago. Robert had worked at Hamilton Standard, now Hamilton Sundstrand in Windsor Locks as a Quality Control Inspector for Electronic boards. His favorite hobbies were flying Radio Controlled airplanes, golfing, getting a hole-in-one trophy, listening to his music on an array of equipment which he had put together. Also, he loved his 07 Mustang, which he had done numerous upgrades to. He enjoyed showing off his car at all the local car shows. He leaves his caretaker and cousin, Marlene Preissner of Enfield, his first cousins, Thomas Nowak of Suffield, John Nowak and his wife June of Tariffville; also his God child, Andrew Preissner of Suffield, and cousin Matthew Preissner of Enfield. He was predeceased by cousins Richard Buynicki of Suffield and Stanley Nowak of Chicopee, MA. Robert leaves numerous second cousins as well. There will be a private funeral for the family.
