Robert Murphy, 76, beloved husband to Susan (Barber) Murphy, entered into Eternal Rest on Sunday, December 8, 2019, in the comfort of his own home. He was raised in Easton, MA, the son to the late Francis P. and Irma (Gordon) Murphy. Robert attended Easton schools, graduated in 1961 from Oliver Ames High School. He continued his education at Stonehill College. He worked as a Civil Engineer for his own business, Danena Engineering Associates. Memberships include the Easton Lion's Club, the Blue Knights, founding member of Friends of Irish Research, former board member of the Irish Cultural Center, Knights and Ladies of St Finbarr and Friends of Innishannon. In his recent years, Robert located his grandparent's final resting places in Innishannon, Ireland, and to a site severely overgrown and neglected. Friends in Ireland and the US completed the restoration and rededication of the Kil Paddar Graveyard in Dromkeen, West Cork, Ireland , in July 2012, a project dear to his heart: and ultimately gaining his citizenship in Ireland. In addition to his wife, Susan, Robert is survived by seven children, Kimberly Kelleher and her husband, William, of Enfield, Charles Henry and his wife, Wendy, of Deland, FL, Shelley (Sanford) Shor of Easton, MA, Christopher Sanford and his wife, Jennifer, of Woodland, WA, Heather (Sanford)Bruce and her husband, Joseph, of Clermont, FL, Shawn Murphy of Wisconsin, and Erik Sanford and his wife, Amy, of Plainville, MA. He is also survived by fifteen grandchildren and nineteen great grandchildren. Robert was predeceased by a daughter, Michelle Murphy; and two brothers, Ronald and Richard Murphy. Services and burial will be held privately at the convenience of the family. A Memorial Service will be held at 11:00 a.m., December 28, 2019 at North Baptist Church, 899 North Main Street, Brockton, MA 02301.
