Robert J. "Bob" Riley, 87, of Enfield, beloved husband to Caroline (Stacey-Gauthier) Riley, entered into Eternal Rest on Saturday, January 4, 2020, at Baystate Medical Center. He was born in Lowell, MA, the son to the late Robert and Helen (Perry) Riley. Bob proudly served our country in the United States Air Force during the Korean War. Following his time in the service, he enjoyed a long career for the State of Connecticut Corrections Department before retiring in 1985. Bob enjoyed going to the beach and was an avid NY Yankee's and Giant's fan. He was a man of many words who enjoyed and cherished the times spent with his family and friends. In addition to his wife, Caroline Riley of Enfield, Bob is survived by a son, Richard Riley and his wife, Cheryl; a stepdaughter, Christine Gauthier-Roybal; and stepsons, Matthew Gauthier and his wife, Linda, and Peter Gauthier. Bob also leaves his sisters, Brenda Connell and her husband, Bob, and Imelda LaRocco and her husband, Ed; and several nieces and nephews. Bob was predeceased by his previous wife, Patricia Riley; two children, Robert and Karen; two sisters, Helene Sullivan and Jackie Norkiewicz and a brother, William Riley. Relatives and friends are invited to join with the family for calling hours on Tuesday, January 7, 2020 from 4-6 pm at Leete-Stevens Enfield Chapels, 61 South Rd., Enfield, CT 06082. A procession will gather at the funeral home at 9 am on Wednesday, January 8, 2020 for a Mass of Christian Burial to be celebrated at 10 am at St. Bernard Church, 426 Hazard Ave., Enfield, CT 06082. Burial will follow at Hazardville Cemetery in Enfield. In lieu of flowers donations in memory of Bob may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 262 Danny Thomas Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
