Obituary for Robert J. Tenerowicz

Tenerowicz, Robert Joseph Stanley (Bobby), age 79, sadly left us Saturday, February 11, 2023 with his daughters by his side. He graduated from Windsor Locks High School and remained a resident most of his life. He was predeceased by his mother, Genevieve Tenerowicz, his father Stanley Tenerowicz and two brother in laws, Walter Ofsuryk and Joseph Procopio. He leaves behind two sisters Carol Ofsuryk of East Granby, and Marcia Procopio of Venice, Florida and a brother and sister in law, Thomas and Darlene Tenerowicz of Windsor Locks, two daughters, Teresa Tenerowicz and partner Linda Lessard of Windsor Locks, Amy and Charles Nemeth of Suffield, CT. He also left numerous nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews that he loved dearly. Those who knew Bobby knew he was a fun loving person that continued to make everyone laugh as much as possible. His love of the Red Sox and knowledge of past and present sports statistics was impressive and a talking point for tons of conversations with family, friends and anyone willing to ‘talk sports,’ especially at Stella’s or the Polish Club. Even though he was blind since a child, it never stopped him from knowing how much money he had in his pocket for sharing with friends or for any adventure. He worked at Montgomery Mills from a young age until it closed in 1989. He then worked as a custodian for the Windsor Locks Public Schools for years, giving him more opportunities to talk to anyone he could talk to about current events and sports of any kind. His obsession with sports was transcended only by the enormous love for his two granddaughters, Kayla Brooke and Kelsie Rae Nemeth. He was an amazing Dziadek (grandfather). The friendship and bond he has with Kayla and Kelsie will not be broken by this distance, but strengthened by memories, photographs, videos and the endless voicemails they have saved to make them smile and laugh forever.

The family will receive friends from 4:00 - 7:00 at Windsor Locks Funeral Home, 441 Spring St, Windsor Locks on Wednesday, February 15 followed by a service at the Windsor Locks Funeral Home on Thursday at 11am with burial at St Mary’s Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Foundation Fighting Blindness at www. fightingblindness.org.
