Obituary for Rosalynn A. Santacroce

Following a lengthy illness, Rosalynn A. Santacroce passed away peacefully on the 7th day of September 2022, surrounded by family. Born in Springfield, MA to the late Giuseppe and Matilda Santacroce, (nee Cardone,) she was a lifelong resident of Enfield, CT. Even as a young child, Rosalynn strove to right the injustices she saw in the world. This was indeed a quality she carried with her throughout her life. Earning degrees in Education and Administration from Keene State College and St. Joseph’s University, Rosalynn devoted her life to education and helping others to achieve self-actualization. She began her career as a teacher in the Windsor Locks School System and retired as Director of Student Services in the Vernon Public Schools, serving in positions in Killingly, CT and Hartford, CT in between. In her retirement she volunteered at the Enfield Food Shelf, working tirelessly and eventually becoming interim Executive Director. Rosalynn was a seasonal resident of Martha’s Vineyard for over thirty years, where she enjoyed the beaches, arts, and island life. She was predeceased by beloved aunt, Rose Cardone, and survived by siblings Marilynn Cressotti and husband Robert of Enfield, CT and James Santacroce and wife Eva of Baltic, CT. She will be missed dearly by nieces and nephews, Jamie Drzyzga and husband Paul, Abbie Bennis, Fabienne Santacroce and wife Alison, Samantha Nelson and husband Ryan, Bryan Cressotti, Naomi Spoo and husband Joel, Brittany Johnson, and Alex Johnson. Rosalynn also played a significant role in the raising of her great nieces and nephews, Sage and Eden Bennis, and Hannah, Joseph, and James Drzyzga.
