Stephanie Joy Kapper, 56, of New Britain, beloved wife of Martin Kapper, passed away Monday December 28, 2020 after a two year battle with metastatic breast cancer. Born in Hartford, she was raised in Somers. A devoted educator, Stephanie taught science at Newington High School for 17 years and was passionate about teaching and sharing her love of science with young learners. She was a gifted baker who enjoyed baking her delicious Christmas cookies and baked goods. She also loved trips to Walt Disney World where she had many wonderful times with her family. She was able to accomplish one final visit in October.
In addition to her husband Martin, Stephanie is survived by two children, Joshua Berman and Callista Berman and her fiance Jonathan Mercier all of New Britain. She also leaves her father, George Irish Jr. of Somers, a brother, Andrew Irish and his wife Carey of Cheshire, CT, and a nephew Daniel Irish. She was predeceased by her mother, Gail (Ketch) Irish, and her stepmother Barbara (Roth) Irish.
