Obituary for Steven Michael Gintick Jr.
Steven Michael Gintick Jr., 34, of Windsor Locks passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday May 30, 2023. Born in Hartford, CT on December 25, 1988, he was the son of Steven Gintick Sr. and Mariann (Callahan) Jones. Steven grew up in Windsor Locks and attended Windsor Locks High School.
Steven's love for sports started when he could barely walk. He was a diehard Yankee fan and LOVED the Cowboys just as much. Steven had a great love for nature. He enjoyed fishing, hiking, swimming and riding his motorcycle. A hobby that Steven was extremely passionate about was collecting sneakers and over the years his collection has grown tremendously! Steven was a son, brother, cousin, and friend, but what he cherished most was being called "Uncle." He never missed an opportunity to support or participate in activities with the kids whether it be field day at school, a trip to the movies, a graduation or a beach day, Steven was there.
He leaves his father Steven Gintick, Sr. & fiancé Anita New of Bristol, his mother & step father Mariann & Rick Jones of Windsor Locks. Three sisters, Melisa Kupstas & her husband Greg Kupstas , Kimberly Vandine and Sara Gintick; and several nieces & nephews. Steven is also predeceased by his nephew Ryan J. Dowling.
His family will receive friends on Wednesday, June 7, from 5-7 PM at Windsor locks funeral home. 441 Spring St., Windsor Locks. A Mass of Christian Burial will take place on Thursday, June 8, at 10 Am at St. Mary Church, 42 Spring St., Windsor Locks. PLEASE MEET DIRECTLY AT THE CHURCH. Burial will follow in St. Mary's Cemetery in Windsor Locks.
