Susan (Sultan) Starr, beloved mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, of Enfield, passed away on August 9, 2022 at the age of 96. Born in Somersville, CT, daughter of the late Victor and Mary (Brazinskas) Sultan, wife of the late S. Leger Starr. She resided in Enfield since 1947. Susan is survived by her 3 loving daughters, Donna Bartholomew and husband Gary, Dale Gregoire and husband Robert, Doreen Grout and husband Ken; her loving grandchildren, Chad Wilby and wife Jennifer, Scott Bartholomew and wife Beverly, Cory Cottone and husband Josh, Amy Novak and husband Brian, Daniel Grout and wife Mary, Paula Johnson and husband Brenden, Jill Gregoire, Judy O’Donnell and husband Riley and Robert Gregoire. She also had 11 great-grandchildren, Brayden, Ledger, Ethan, Bishop, Starr, Mia, Trey, Maci, Kenley, Bryce and Colt; and several nieces, nephews, and extended family of friends. Susan was predeceased by her daughter Debra Wilby, son Wilfred Starr, her sisters Steffie, Mary, and Stella; and brother Stanley. A special thanks to Eileen Markowski and the visiting nurses. Besides running an active household, Susan was generous and very involved in many organizations. Her greatest joy was her love for her family. She always put her family’s needs ahead of her own, always making the holidays and birthdays a special occasion with her delicious golumbkis. We could never repay her for all she has done for us and others. Susan instilled values that we still implement today.
