Obituary for Thomas "TLAND" E. "TLAND" Landry

Thomas E. Landry, 67, of Windsor Locks, passed away at home Saturday October 8, 2022. Born in Duluth, MN, he was the son of the late Ernest and Irene (Erickson) Landry. Tom grew up in Windsor Locks and graduated WLHS in 1973, after which he served honorably in the U.S. Navy. He then went on to open his business, Landry Communications, which he ran for 29 years. Tom was an avid golfer and a longtime member of the Suffield Country Club, where he was named member of the year in 2021. He also served on the committee of the WL Hall of Fame, and organized its annual golf-tournament fundraiser. Tom is also a HOF member himself, inducted as part of the 1970-1971 Boys Soccer State Championship teams. Tom was a Windsor Locks Lions Club member for almost 27 years, coached several local sports teams, and was a cornerstone in the community he loved so dearly. Above all, Tom was immensely dedicated to his family and will be remembered fondly for his generous heart, kind spirit, and ability to find lightheartedness even in the darkest of moments. Whether they called him TLand, Ernie, Tom, or Tommy, his friends will never forget the way his smile and deep belly laugh would light up the room, usually followed by a gregarious "That's what I am talkin’ about!"

He is survived by his loving daughter, Susan Landry and her partner Michael Cusi of Berkeley,CA. Tom was predeceased by his wife Barbara Landry and his brother, David Landry. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday October 25 at St. Robert Bellarmine Church of St. Mary Gate of Heaven Parish, 52 South Elm St., Windsor Locks (please meet at church), followed by a celebration of life at the Suffield Country Club. Burial is private.Donations in Tom's memory may be made to the Windsor Locks Lions Club Charities and sent to PO Box 312, Windsor Locks, CT 06096.
