Timothy Riach, 56, of Enfield, beloved husband of 19 years to Mary (Gemme) Riach, peacefully passed away at his home on Sunday, March 20, 2022 with his family by his side. Son of the late John R. and Esther Jane (Abbott) Riach, he was born in Hartford on March 2, 1966. Tim was a long time resident of Enfield, and was employed by the town for over 35 years. In his early days, he enjoyed riding his Harley. As years passed he cherished time spent with his wife and family, whom he loved to cook for, especially meals on the grill. When he wasn’t cooking, he could be found fixing almost anything around his home. Tim loved being outdoors in warmer weather and enjoyed vacations to places with plenty of sun. He was also involved as an umpire for girl’s softball.
In addition to his beloved wife Mary, Tim will be dearly missed by his 8 cherished children, Jane Riach, Ashley Pianka and her husband Steve, Timothy Riach, Jr., Heather Chenette and her husband Lee, Justin Thurston, and Bryan Gemme and his wife Nicole, Zach Thurston and Brook, and Derek Thurston. He also leaves behind his grandchildren, Aydin, Laci, Destini, Ke’Ana, Cameron, Sofia, Caiden, and Mitchell; 8 brothers, Eddie, Jim, Bobby, Scott, Billy, Michael, Brian and Bruce, and their spouses, and 5 sisters, Holly, Brenda, Randi, Heather, and Wendy (predeceased), and their spouses.
Tim’s family will receive family and friends from 4-6 PM on Wednesday, March 23 at Leete-Stevens Enfield Chapels, 61 South Rd, Enfield. Burial will be private at the convenience of the family. For online condolences, please visit www.leetestevens.com.
