Obituary for Unity T. Malloy

Unity T. Malloy, 60, of Ellington, CT passed away early Saturday morning, February 8, 2020. Born in Albany, NY, daughter of the late Thomas and Mary Malloy, she settled in idyllic Ellington after raising a family in Massachusetts for many years. Unity was a devoted mother, a loyal friend, a model employee, and a loving companion. She enjoyed traveling, thrill-seeking, taking trips to the beach, live music, living life to the fullest and above all, spending time with her loved ones. She graduated with honors from Commerce High School in 1977, and managed the Yankee Candle Store in Holyoke, MA and dressbarn in Rocky Hill, CT. Recently, she accepted a position as Patient Services Coordinator with MyEyeDoc in Vernon, CT. She will be remembered for the kindness of her spirit, the wisdom in her laugh, and the light in her soul. She will be eternally missed and celebrated forever. We carry on with her cherished words in mind, “if there’s a will, there’s a way…” She is survived by her 3 loving children, Michael James Cook, Jr., Leah Cook and her husband Joseph Noyes, and David Cook and his wife Gabrielle Powell; 1 grandson, Michael Theodore Cook; her partner, James Donlin; her brother, Joseph Malloy and his wife Lauria; and many nieces, nephews, friends, and co-workers who will miss her dearly. Her family will receive friends on Thursday, February 13, from 4-7 PM at the Leete-Stevens Enfield Chapels, 61 South Rd., Enfield. A Celebration of Life Service will be held on Friday, February 14, at 11 AM at the funeral home. For online condolences, please visit www.leetestevens.com.
