Obituary for Ursula G. Herrington (Goralski)

On Wednesday, December 9, 2020, Ursula (Goralski) Herrington, of Enfield, loving wife and devoted mother, passed away at her home at age 69 following a long-term battle against Myotonic Dystrophy.

Ursula was born on March 12, 1951 in Belgium to Marion and Else Goralski. The family immigrated to the United States in 1953. Ursula attended SS. Cyril & Methodist School and graduated from Hartford Public High School. She studied at Central Connecticut State University where she met her husband, Warren G. Herrington II. They married on January 9, 1970.

In addition to her husband, Ursula is survived by her three children; Warren G. Herrington, III and his wife Aoife of Vernon, Wade Herrington of Plainville, Hayley Herrington of Hamden; her sister, Irene Goralski of Ellington; her niece Shawna Ridgeway and her husband Kenneth; and her niece Heather Herrington. She was a doting grandmother to Kaelyn Harper and welcomed Nathan Joseph and Emma Lynn into her heart. She was a proud great-aunt to her nieces and her nephew. Ursula was preceded in death by her parents, her brother-in-law George and her nephew Heath.

As a Special Education Paraprofessional for Plainville Public Schools for 20 years, Ursula epitomized kindness. Being a mother and an aunt was her life’s joy and her compassionate nature carried over into her work as an educator. Whether she was gardening or crafting, cooking or baking, she was always listening to music. These were her passions. She was a huge fan of The Beatles and Dave Matthews Band. Her smile was infectious and she was everyone’s #1 cheerleader. Ursula impacted the lives of everyone she met in ways that will forever be captured with endless stories and beautiful memories.
