Obituary for Wallie Dellaquila

Wallie Ann Dellaquila, 68, of Suffield, beloved wife of Anthony M. Dellaquila, passed away peacefully in the comfort of her home surrounded by her family on Monday, March 8, 2021. Born in Holyoke, MA on August 22, 1952, she was the daughter of the late Harold and Audrey (Young) Gerliep and grew up in Springfield. Wallie graduated from Cathedral High School and went on to earn her Bachelor’s Degree in Education from Westfield State University. She began her career in teaching but left education to pursue a career in investment banking. She worked for 30 years at several local banks before retiring in 2013. Wallie had a generous spirit and she enjoyed volunteering her time at the Second Chance Shop in Suffield. She was an avid reader, loved shopping, and tending to her plants and garden. Wallie cherished the time she got to spend with her family and friends at the beaches of Westerly, Misquamicut and Watch Hill. Wallie was a loving wife, devoted mother, sister and friend who will be deeply missed. Besides her husband of 42 years, Anthony, she leaves her loving daughter, Christina Della Ronzano and her husband Christopher of Dracut, MA. She was predeceased by her brother, Richard Gerliep. Services will be privately held for the family. Leete-Stevens Enfield Chapels has care of arrangements. The family would like to thank Beacon Hospice for their kind, loving, and compassionate care of Wallie during her final days and weeks.
