William I. Brunson, lovingly known as "Papa", 88, of Enfield, passed away peacefully with his family at his side on September 15, 2022 at Bickford Healthcare Center. He was born on November 29, 1933 to the late William E. Brunson and Ethel G. Brunson. He was predeceased by his loving wife, Patricia (Chapman) Brunson. He is survived by his daughter Terry Lynn Kinsley his grandchildren Jaimie Provencher, Andrea and Steve Macintosh, Valerie and Nick Bianchi and Daniel and Sara Kinsley along with 8 great grandchildren, his daughter Peggy Raymond and his grandchildren Eric Howard, Jessica Raymond and Christopher and Jasmyn Raymond along with 7 great grandchildren, his son and daughter in law Charles “Chuck” and Diane Brunson, and his daughter Julie Nicholson, her partner Scott Tarbell, his grandchildren Rachel and Jon Lemon, Benjamin and Heather Nicholson, and his 5 great-grandchildren. In addition, he leaves behind many cherished nieces, nephews, family members and friends who will miss having him in their lives.

Raised on a farm in rural Alabama, he came north to reside in Enfield with the love of his life, Patricia. He was head of nuclear refueling for submarines at Portsmouth Naval Shipyard, managed many restaurants, and was maintenance mechanic for a bus company prior to his retirement. His charm and hearty laugh captivated everyone he met. He had many interests such as bowling with our mom and was even a volunteer firefighter for a while. He was always willing to help no matter who you were.

Visitation will be held Wednesday, September 21, 2022 at 4:00 - 7:00 pm at Leete-Stevens Enfield Chapels, 61 South Rd., Enfield, CT 06082.
