Wladyslawa Duda, 96, of Windsor Locks, entered into eternal rest, Wednesday May 17, 2023 at St. Francis Hospital in Hartford. Born in 1926, Wladyslawa was raised in a village in Poland and was the eldest of 7 kids. She lived on a small farm and loved to go to school though her schooling was cut short under the occupation during WWII. Much of her childhood and early adult years were spent taking care of family. She eventually immigrated to the U.S. and made a new home in Connecticut where she lived for over 50 years.
Her entire life revolved around family and caring for people in need. She made many fond memories working at the Felicia Sisters in Enfield, CT cooking and cleaning for the Monastery. She loved this job and hobbies like gardening and knitting. She also loved to dance and she was not shy about taking your hand and getting out on the dance floor, especially for a classic “disco polo” song. Making her family and friends smile and feel loved is what brought her the most joy. She did everything she could to better the lives of those around her and was a devoted mother, grandmother, and great grandmother.
She is survived by three grandsons, Krzysztof Duda-Lukasiak and his wife Julie of Suffield, Tomasz Duda and his wife Monika of Wethersfield, Mariusz Duda and his wife Michelle of Glastonbury, daughter-in-law Barbara Duda of Windsor Locks, and six great grandchildren, Ariana, Liliana, Gabriela, Jakub, Kacper, and Sabina. She also leaves a brother Hieronim Lepkowski two sisters, Aniela Luksza and Krystyna Kadlubowska, and numerous nieces and nephews.
Wladyslawa was predeceased by her husband Czeslaw Duda, two children, Danuta Duda-Lukasiak, Jan Duda, a sister, Monika Kisiel two brothers Stefan Lepkowski and Franciszek Lepkowski, and a great granddaughter Amelia Duda.
