Obituary for Mary Anne Camerota (Lavinski)

Mary Anne (Lavinski) Camerota, of George Wood Rd., Somers, CT died Thursday, April 27, 2017, at her home, surrounded by her caring family. She was predeceased by her husband, Salvatore "Sam" Camerota, who died in 1980. Mary was born in Springfield, a daughter of the late Michael and Sophie Lavinski, and had been a resident of Enfield for 27 years before moving to the Somers community in 1979. She was a faithful communicant of St. Martha Church and also St. Bernard Church. Mary devoted her life to her family. She was a dedicated spouse and mother, her "hobbies" being her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She is survived by her seven children, Michael and Jacqueline Camerota, Frank and Jane Camerota, Steven and Deborah Camerota, Salvatore and Jo-Ann Camerota, Theresa Trombetta, Gina and Rosario Reale and Selina and James Ruggiero; 24 grandchildren and 17 great grandchildren; and her sister, Rose Bergamini. Her family wishes to acknowledge the loving care extended to Mary by Marta Powichrowski., Marta W. and Jackie Wnuk. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated today (Sat., April 29) at 9:00 a.m. in St. Bernard Church, 426 Hazard Ave., Enfield. Private graveside services will be held Monday at St. Michael's Cemetery, Springfield. There are no calling hours. Mary's family has suggested that expressions of sympathy may be in the form of Memorial Donations to St. Martha Church, 214 Brainard Rd., Enfield, CT 06082 or St. Bernard Church, 426 Hazard Ave., Enfield, CT 06082.
