Shocked does not begin to describe my feelings. When Dave and I were in school together, I always looked at Mr. Bromage as a role model - a loving parent, a tremendous athlete, a straightforward businessman and a genuinely warm and friendly person. As I got older and we shared common interests like the Enfield Athletic Hall of Fame, we grew to be good friends who could talk sports anytime, anyplace. I will miss our lengthy discussions about the Baseball Hall of Fame, during which he would never fail to comment that Don Sutton and Tony Perez should not be in there. I will miss lunches at LuLu's, where we'd talk town stuff. Like I've said many times before about my own dad - if I can be half the man Howie Bromage was, I'll be doing pretty good for myself. RIP my friend.
