Obituary for Gary James

Gary  James
Gary James, 48, of Enfield, passed away Tuesday, May 18, 2010, at home surrounded by his loving family. He was born in Exeter, Devon, England on June 14, 1961. He emigrated to the USA in 1967 and graduated from Enrico Fermi High School in 1978, after which he returned to England to attend Exeter College. He completed a five year Carpenters Joiners Apprenticeship and obtained a City and Guild of England Certificate. Gary was a master carpenter for 32 years and was employed by Standard Builders of Newington, CT for several years. He was a member of Carpenter’s Local 43, Hartford, CT and also Carpenter’s Local 108 in Springfield, MA. Gary was an avid sportsman who enjoyed golfing, playing softball, skiing and bowling. He was a loyal Red Sox and New England Patriots fan, and was a lifelong member of the Greys Athletic Association. Gary leaves his wife, Patricia, and his parents, Alan W. and Jennifer M. James, all of Enfield. He also leaves two brothers, Graham James and his son and daughter, Andrew and Stacey, and Glen James and his wife, Nicole, and their daughter, Ashley, all of Enfield. Gary leaves many family members in England and many, many friends who will miss him very much. Family and friends may gather at Leete-Stevens Enfield Chapels, 61 South Road, Enfield on Monday, May 24, 2010, at 10:00 a.m. for a procession to St. Adalbert Church where a Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 a.m. Gary’s family will receive relatives and friends at Leete-Stevens on Sunday, May 23, 2010 from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m.
