Anne Barbara Connors, 88, of Somers, beloved wife of the late James Joseph Connors, died April 21, 2005 at Vernon Manor Health Care Center. Mrs. Connors was born in Manown, PA on June 27, 1916 to Vincent and Mary (Novotny) Yacko. Her family moved to Yonkers, NY in 1926 where she attended Holy Trinity grade school and Gorton High School. After High School she attended New York Institute of Dietetics and received a Dietitian degree in 1944. She worked at Perth Amboy General Hospital, Peekskill Hospital, and Yonkers General Hospital, as a First Dietitian. On October 22, 1950 she married James Joseph Connors in Yonkers, NY and they later moved to Somers, CT in 1952. Anne then worked at Wesson Memorial Hospital in Springfield, MA as a Food Supervisor from 1966 to 1976. Anne enjoyed dancing and listening to polka music. Above all, she enjoyed taking care of her children and dedicated herself to their well being and betterment. She is survived by her children, James Connors of Somers, CT, Joanne (Tom) Fisher of Bolton, CT, Loretta (JR) Hoar of Bolton, CT, Dr. Vincent (Isaure) Connors of Spartanburg, SC, and Dr. Thomas (Abby) Connors of Piscataway, NJ. Loving grandmother of 12 and great grandmother of 6. She is also survived by her brother John of Birmingham, AL and a special "daughter” Lori Connors. She is preceded in death by her siblings, Andrew, Joseph, Mary, Betty, and Agnes. Family and friends will gather at the Somers Funeral Home on Monday, April 25, 2005 at 9:00 am to form a funeral procession. A Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 10:00 am at All Saints Church, Somersville, CT. Interment will be in West Cemetery in Somers. Anne’s family will receive relatives and friends on Sunday, April 24, 2005 between the hours of 5 pm to 8 pm.
