Len Travaglini

Dear Cindy, My deepest sympathy in the loss of Uncle Phil. Although I had not seen him for quite awhile, he was always in my thoughts. I remembered when he and your mom were first married and lived in West Haven in a little house on Washington Ave. The last time I saw your dad was at my wedding in October of 1966. I don't know if you knew that your dad won a talent contest when he was in the Air Force for his voice. Well, we had him get up on stage at my wedding to show us how he won it and after he gave his rendition of "Romana Guitar" he brought the house down. I would check with my mom (who is 90 years old as of this letter) from time to time as to where your father was. I tracked him from Alaska, to Uncle Junny's business in Brooklyn NY, and finally to Chicago where he opened up the Nantucket (I think) restaurant. You know, I ran into someone from Chicago who ate at your father's restaurant quite a few times. He said that he remembered your dad and that he was a "Great Guy". Well, enough for now, (you know I like to talk alot). Cindy, please convey my sympathy's to Aunty Jean and the rest of your family. Here's hoping that we meet again under more pleasant circumstances. Sincerely, Your Cousin, Len,,
