Karen (Schafer) L. Stein, 54, of Enfield, CT loving wife of Jeff Stein passed away peacefully on Sunday, July 26, 2015 at St. Francis Hospital surrounded by her family. Karen was born on July 7, 1961 in Kittery, Maine, the daughter of Kenneth and the late Susan (Caven) Schafer, Sr. Karen was employed for The Hartford for many years as a case manager. She loved her boys; she was a hockey mom and a mom to all who came through her door. Karen loved cooking and spending time at the family cabin in Vermont. In addition to her husband Jeff to whom she was married for thirty years and her father Kenneth, she is survived by her two loving sons Joshua and Zachary Stein of Enfield, a brother Kenneth Schafer, Jr. and his wife Ann of Enfield, two sisters Julie Bourdeau and her husband Gyslain of Enfield and Laura Schafer of Tariffville, and many nieces and nephews. Relatives and friends are welcome to join the family on Wednesday, July 29, 2015 from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. at Leete-Stevens Enfield Chapels, 61 South Road, Enfield. A Funeral Service will be held at 7:00 p.m. at Leete-Stevens Enfield Chapels. Burial will be held at the convenience of the family.
